    Henry Charles Marshall, 1st Battalion, Infantry, no. 577, a professional photographer, who fought at Gallipoli. He died on 10th June 1915.

  • Scope and Content
    Snapshots of soldiers in their camps, boarding and on board boats and in Egypt, general scenes of Egypt, soldiers travelling by boat to Gallipoli, and scenes of Gallipoli.

    The size of the prints (2 ½ x 1 ⅝ inches) indicates they were contact printed from 127 roll film. This format was introduced by Kodak in 1912 and was used in their compact folding Vest Pocket Kodak camera, popular with WWI soldiers.
